Hola – Bonjour – Hej!
Travel there and back
The last few weeks were full of travelling. After two weeks of staying at my girlfriend’s apartment in Uppsala and working from there I only had about a week at home before my extended weekend off. For the first time since the pandemic, my friends and I were able to hold our traditional annual weekend in Barcelona. Although I didn’t take my laptop with me, it didn’t go entirely without work. Every now and then I had to check my phone to organize my meetings for the upcoming Game Connection Europe in Paris.

So, two days after Barcelona I was on the train to France. Once again we had the opportunity to join a B2B convention supported by Swiss Games from Pro Helvetia. Since we only had meetings in Paris and could not exhibit our game, we had decided that I would go alone. Together with the guys from Ninoko, LaufLauf, Hooded Traveler and Kreidenwerk we had a busy but wonderful few days in Paris. I had a lot of meetings with publishers and other people from the industry and once again the positive feedback they gave me showed me that we are on the right track.

Back home, I was able to pack my suitcase again, so to speak, because two days later Sebastian and I traveled together to LuleĆ„ in northern Sweden. Global Top Round (GTR), an international company investing in young Game Studios, invited us to their conference, which means that we were selected as one of only 20 studios from over 400 applications. During the fair we had to pitch our game and at the end of the second day, GTR selected ten studios to invest. Although we were not selected it was a great opportunity to connect with more people from the industry and gain feedback from them as well as publishers and investors. LuleĆ„ was a very nice place to hold such an event and it’s simply amazing how Sweden promotes and invests in their Game Industry.
Now I’m back in Uppsala for a week and I’m looking forward to spending December at home in Switzerland and settling down a little bit.
