We were at Gamescom and it was a blast!
Thanks to Pro Helvetia we had the opportunity to be part of the Swiss Games Booth in the business area of the Gamescom 2022, the world’s biggest game exhibition, in Cologne.
The week started with the devcom on Monday and Tuesday, we’re we had the chance to listen to some talks of other game developers, providers, composers etc, which were really inspiring. Pointing one out of them, Inon Zur, mostly famous for the score of the Fallout series, was just breathtaking; Equipped with a piano on the stage he showed the crowd some principles and some secrets of writing video game themes—without a single slide on the screen. It felt so real and honest. We definitely got goosebumps.
At the Gamescom during the second half of the week, we spent a good time showing our game to the business crowd. In general, we received positive feedback regarding the card-based game mechanics, the unique theme and the art style, which made us very happy, and it confirmed that we’re on the right track with the game. Besides meeting publishers for business reasons, we also had the chance to talk to other game developers. Sharing experiences and tips is very helpful for us, and we really appreciate all the feedback from the people who were interested in our game. There is also an interview with the German magazine “Pixelwarte” that you can hopefully find here very soon. We also finally had the chance to meet our agency GYLD in person, and we spend a very nice evening in a beautiful Restaurant at the Rhine.
After the Gamescom we had the Saturday left to visit the City and relax a little bit, before we headed home on Sunday noon.
This week was full of delightful experiences, and we really hope that we will be back at Gamescom next year. We really want to thank Pro Helvetia and their partners SwissTech, House of Switzerland, Presence Switzerland, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA, Marchsreiter Communications and HONEST – The Video Game PR Agency.
The SwissGames booth was elaborately arranged, and the people from Pro Helvetia did—as usually—a fantastic job! Thank you so much!
We now continue the talkings to our agency to get back to the interested publishers, we keep working on the vertical slide of the game and we really hope that we can announce good news as soon as possible.
